Japanese Learning Asteroids
Classic asteroids gameplay, except the rocks are Japanese kana and shooting the right one is how you learn to read them.
How it works
A kana appears, its sound plays, and the field fills with asteroids carrying different characters. Blast the one that matches. Wrong hits cost you; streaks speed things up. It's spaced repetition disguised as an arcade cabinet. You memorize hiragana and katakana because your survival depends on it.
Built with
GameMaker Studio, hundreds of recorded kana voice clips, and the HTML5 export you're playing above. The full source lives on GitHub, and issues and pull requests are welcome.
